Hello Kitty Go Around! Singapore (Part 1)

Went to Hello Kitty Go Around! Singapore in November, which is near the end of the event date. Was disappointed by the size of the event. It's so small compared to the 35th Anniversary that I went last time. It's not worth the price (Early bird price is $48.15 + booking fee of $2). Anyway, bought the tickets already so no choice.

Merchandise T-shirt (S $50). This design comes in black and white background.

The merchandise T-shirt comes in this milk pack lookalike zip bag. So cute right?!

This is what the early bird bag is like. (Top, left to right) HK recycle bag, figurines, HK cards, mineral water with the event printing on it, milk bottle shaped lanyard and HK art book (inside are pictures of HK over the years).

I finished touring the event within 2 hours (which is not hard since the event scale is so small) and got this early checkout HK figurine. It has a velvety texture n comes in red, orange and blue. We are not allowed to select the colour as all boxes are sealed.

The entrance package comes with 3 tickets that can be use to play games or purchase item in the shop at the event. Bought this wooden plate which suppose to write your wish and hang at the HK temple at the event. I brought it home instead. Don't understand why people leave it there when the temple is not a real 1.

Used another ticket to buy this postcard which seems more like a coaster. I used the 3rd ticket for a game which did not win me anything.  So best to use the ticket to buy stuff instead of playing the games. Lol!! Alternatively,  the ticket can also b purchased at S$5 each. Expensive right!? :|

Another merchandise item. It's a 4 in 1 notebook set (S$20).

4 in 1 notebook set - small notepad w binder

4 in 1 notebook set - A5 size notepad

4 in 1 notebook set - A5 size notebook

4 in 1 notebook set - A5 size notebook with binder

That's all for Part 1! :D

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Bought this Fresh Soy Face Cleanser (UP: S$63) at Sephora Singapore during May 2015 private sales. This cleanser is much raved about so I thought of giving it a try as I like to try anything that could help to make myself prettier ☺. Had recently finished this cleanser and thought of writing a review of it.

Appearance: Whitish gel-like. Almost opaque. I don't have a picture of it but can easily found by googling.

Scent: Light. Smells like cucumber.

Lathering factor: Does not lather much. (1/5)

Cleansing effect: Initially I used it for night cleansing because I read that it could help to remove light makeup effectively. But despite me using Shu Umera cleansing oil before using soy cleanser, I feel that the face is not clean enough. Saw that my cotton pad is dirty after using toner. So I used the soy cleanser for morning cleansing instead. It works well but doesn't impressed me.

Overall rating: 2/5

Will I buy again: No. It works for cleansing of face without makeup and probably people with sensitive skin. Does not impressed me. And there are alot more products out there to try.

Châteraisé Patisserie - Strawberry shortcake & Macaroons

Bought the strawberry shortcake n macaroons from Châteraisé Patisserie at Isetan, Westgate. There is always a long queue at the counter but there was not last Friday. Probably because it's near the end of operation hour? Isetan supermarket staff started to cover the fridge at around 9.30pm. Anyway, out of curiosity and the urge for sweet stuff plus there's no queue, I bought the cake and macaroons on impulse :D

Strawberry shortcake (S$4.70)
Verdict: Cake is soft, moisture level and sweetness is just nice. Cream is light but abit too sweet. The fruits on top is fresh and not too sour. Châteraisé staff said I could keep the cake in the fridge for 2 days but I wanted to have it as fresh as possible so I had it the next late afternoon.

Macaroons (From top clockwise) - Raspberry, matcha and caramel (S$2.50 each)
Verdict: All are too sweet for my liking. The sweetest will be caramel, followed by matcha and raspberry. For matcha, can't really taste the matcha flavour, was rather disappointed. As for the raspberry, the sourness helps to tone down the sweetness abit. But overall, they are too sweet for me. Still prefer laduree which is less sweet.

Set up the table for afternoon tea :D

Steamed Green Tea cake

Recently made this steamed green tea cake using the steamed Chocolate cake recipe adopted from here but did some modification. So the recipe for making the one in the picture is below.
Ingredients :
160 g butter
180 g caster sugar
200 g full cream evaporated milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten with fork
100 g plain flour
25g matcha powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla paste
Methods :
1. Combine caster sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla paste and butter in a saucepan.Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted, turn off the fire and keep warm.
2. Add the beaten eggs into the slightly cold evaporated milk mixture and stir till well mix.
3. Sift the flour, matcha powder, baking powder and baking soda into a large mixing bowl, then pour the eggs mixture over the flour and stir till well mix (cake batter should be runny)
4. Heat up the steamer.
5. Lined and greased (I did not grease) a 8 inch round baking pan.
6. Pour the batter into the lined pan and place the pan into the steamer and cover the top of the pan loosely with a piece of aluminium foil.
7. Cover the steamer and steam over medium heat for about 65 mins. (until skewer came out clean)
8. Cool the cake in pan before turning out for further decoration.
Verdict: Soft, moist and sweetness is just nice!

Great Eastern Women's Run 2015 - Race pack collection

Collected my race pack on 15 Oct, which was the first day of collection. Reached around 7pm and the queue ends outside the atrium :| Finally collected the race pack after about 50min of queuing. Was wondering why the bag is so heavy compared to the other race pack I had collected so far. To my surprise there's many items inside and they are mostly useful. . I emphasises 'useful' as the items inside the race pack are usually not totally useful. Haha...
